The Opportunity
Glasgow Sculpture Studios would like to invite applications for participation in this exchange. The exchange is designed for artists at a pivotal point in their career and who have not had major institutional support or the opportunity to develop work abroad. Artists must be living and working in Glasgow.
The residency period will be 2nd November till the 18th of December 2020
The selected artist will have access to a free studio (60m²) and shared accommodation in Marseille; return travel costs covered; and 1000 euros production grant (on presentation of receipts). They will also be provided with logistical support including production assistance; assistance in research of materials, techniques and partnerships; and links with the wider visual arts networks in the host city.
International Travel & COVID-19
Triangle France – Astérides are now able to welcome and host international artists residencies. Following regulations introduced by the French Government on 25th March 2020 in accordance with the Emergency Law adopted in response to the COVID-19 epidemic, they have introduced a new health protocol.
Triangle France – Astérides will arrange for all international artists arriving in France to be tested for COVID-19. Artists will be provided with hotel accommodation in which to isolate until the test results come back (48 hours)
Should a resident artist developed a confirmed case of COVID-19, Triangle France – Astérides will offer to accompany the artist in obtaining medical care (whilst respecting their right to privacy) and/or accompany the artist in being repatriated by their insurance company, which the artist will have contacted before their arrival to the residency, as indicated in their residency contract.

Triangle France - Astérides is a twenty-six years old non-profit contemporary art organization based in Friche la Belle de Mai, Marseille. Triangle France - Astérides aims to promote the emerging international art scene through a challenging and experimental program of artist’s residencies, exhibitions, events, new commissions, and publications. Triangle France - Astérides supports the production and presentation of new forms of artistic activity and aims to create dynamic relationships between art, artists, and audiences both locally and internationally.
Since its founding in 1995, Triangle France has established itself as one of France's most innovative organizations supporting artists at a formative point in their career. Triangle France supports emerging artists as well as artists that are under-represented in France by collaborating with them in the development, production and presentation of important new projects that enable them to take new steps in their careers.
Internationally, Triangle France-Astérides is part of "Triangle Network" an international network of artists and arts organizations that promotes dialogue, exchange of ideas and innovation within the contemporary visual arts. Through artist-led workshops, residencies, exhibitions and outreach events, the network generates peer-to-peer learning, professional development for artists and the dissemination of emerging international art practices.

Triangle France - Astérides is supported by Ville de Marseille, Ministère de la Culture - DRAC Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Région SUD, and Conseil départemental des Bouches-du-Rhône. Triangle France - Astérides is a funding member and cooperator of the SCIC Friche la Belle de Mai (a co-operative society of collective interest) where the organisation has been based for the past 25 years.

Applications should take the form of a single PDF document comprised of the following:

A statement outlining how a residency with Triangle France - Astérides would enable you to develop your artistic practice? (350 words)
8-10 images, or up to 3 youtube or vimeo links to works that you feel best articulate your practice and best support your application. Please also include a short description (title, medium, date, etc) and/or contextual information for each image.
Artist CV (2 A4 pages maximum)
The deadline for applications is 5pm (GMT) on Monday 7th September. Please note, late applications will not be considered.
