Membership
We are the largest art production facility in Scotland, with specialist workshops in metalwork, woodwork, plaster, resin, ceramics and digital fabrication. Use of our facilities is supervised by our expert technicians who are on hand to provide advice and assistance to users.
Our facilities are designed to support artists to explore what sculpture means today and our membership is open to artists working in sculptural practices who wish to access our workshops.

Fees
Access is important to us so we designed our membership to offer a variety of options geared towards the different needs of our users:
Standard Membership | £90 per year
Concession | £72 per year
Our concession membership is offered to art students and artists becoming members within a year of graduating and allows access to our extensive fabrication facilities at significantly reduced rates.

Supporting statements for our consideration
Upon completing your application, you will be prompted to email four images of your work to support your application.
Once your membership application has been accepted you will then be required to complete inductions for each facility you wish to access.

Studios
GSS is located at The Whisky Bond on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal and we are home to a vibrant community of artists working in a variety of media.
GSS houses 37 studios which range in scale from 165 to 1000 square foot. We have fully accessible studios and all of our spaces have 24/7 access, WiFi, are centrally heated, and have convenient access to our onsite workshop facilities. We also provide social spaces with a communal kitchen/dining area, a members library, and a meeting room to foster a collaborative creative environment among our studio holders.
Become a GSS studio holder
Applications for studios are welcomed at any time from artists working within contemporary sculpture practice. To apply to become a studio holder, you must first become a member of GSS. You can find out more about how to become a member in our membership section above.
There is currently a waiting list for studio space, and all new applicants will be added to this list and contacted when a studio becomes available.
