Glasgow Sculpture Studios has delivered a Learning & Engagement Programme in North West Glasgow since moving to The Whisky Bond in 2012.
Our learning and engagement programmes create space for thinking, making, and doing together. We are a space for learning that values trial & error, experimentation, and hands-on experiences.
As a creative communal production facility, creating opportunities for thinking, making, and doing together is the key link between our role within the creative industries and our role within our local area. As a post industrial area, making, manufacturing, and production have always been part of the fabric of NW Glasgow. Our programme is anchored by our research into the heritage and histories of the are—using artist led-learning and methods of co-production and co-creation with local communities to explore the cultures, practices, and ideas that shape the area’s past, present, and future. We work closely with a number of Community Partners to deliver our work together, and to amplify the vital work already happening in our area driven by grassroots groups and community activism.
