Zander McKenzie

Zander McKenzie (b.2003) is a Scottish visual artist exploring ambiguous terror and synthesised fear.

Using his responses to issues such as illness, language, and environment as communicators: A combination of experiences absorbed are regurgitated through overwhelming, purposely off putting, and uncomfortable work. Working in a range of mediums from poetry and sound to performance and kinetic metal machines. Most of his work is intended to be experienced defined by the space it is in. Using found objects such as car parts, natural matter, organs, and electrics to communicate that natural feeling of fear and disgust and remind you of it.

Zander McKenzie is currently studying a BA (Hons) in Sculpture and Environmental Art at the Glasgow School of Art. After previously studying on a Portfolio Preparation course with the University of Arts London at Langside College. Zander has exhibited at MASS 2023, French Street Galleries; Metal Terror Prototype Performance, Stow College; Lost and Found in Translation, Stow College.
