unlocking the story

Unlocking The Story was a project initiated by Scottish Waterways Trust exploring and celebrating the social and industrial history of Glasgow’s canals. These canals are steeped in rich heritage, and have played a defining role for the communities of North Glasgow from their industrial heyday through to the current renaissance led through the Glasgow Canal Regeneration Project.

As part of a new public art commission which sits as a key element of the Unlocking the Story programme, we delivered a series of public and local community group workshops exploring ideas for potential new art work to sit here alongside the Forth and Clyde Canal. We worked with a variety of groups to explore the canal through screen printing, creative walking trails, photography, boat building, natural clay moulding, and artist talks.
