Sybren Renema (1988) is active as a sculptor, musician, writer, art historian, tour guide and adventurer

His work is inspired by his reading habits, with Romantic literature, geographical exploration, history, geology and archeology featuring prominently. He particularly enjoys working with ceramics, neon and drawing.

Renema's work has been discussed in Artforum, Artsy, the New York Times, Monopol, de Volkskrant and various other periodicals. He currently teaches a course in 19th century art history at the University of Glasgow.

Past exhibitions include the 2017 Venice Biennale, the 2017 Land Art Mongolia Residency, the 2018 Moscow Biennale, several museum exhibitions, and multiple solo exhibitions with Dürst Britt & Mayhew, his regular gallery.
