GSS x Triangle France Residency Exchange

camille1.jpg

We are currently hosting Camille Breteau, the current recipient of our residency exchange programme with Triangle France in Marseille.

Camille will be based in Glasgow until July. Her three months residency includes having an access to a private studio and production facilities at Glasgow Sculpture Studios, shared accommodation and a £1000 production grant.

Camille’s practice spans across performance art, set design, sound installation and making Bauhaus inspired sculptures-costumes – we cannot wait to see the results of her residency! PERFORMANCE AT CCA?

The call for applicants for the Marseille leg of the exchange is currently open and all GSS members are eligible to apply. DETAILS

Marseille is one of Glasgow’s Twin Cities, and the Triangle France residency exchange is supported by the Lord Provost’s and International Office at Glasgow City Council.

Pester & Rossi | REC GROUND

We're so excited to have Pester & Rossi on residency with us at the moment as part of our 'Sandbox' Project funded through Glasgow City Council’s Stalled Spaces initiative.

In collaboration with local community groups, Pester & Rossi will be exploring the history of our local area. They'll be thinking about the importance of communal outdoor space and play - specifically in response to Phoenix Park & Playground which once stood at the junction of New City Road & Garscube Road but was leveled to make way for the M8 Motorway in the 70's.

Their project will culminate in a public event as part of the 2019 Canal Festival on 20th July - keep your eyes peeled for more updates!

Mitch Miller | Creative Communities

We’re delighted to be working with artist Mitch Miller and our friends at The Hamiltonhill Claypits Local Nature Reserve as part of Glasgow Life’s  ‘Creative Communities: Artist in Residence programme’

Mitch will be talking and meeting with local communities to create a ‘dialectogram’ of The Claypits - a drawing that captures memories, experiences, and oral histories to illustrate the social architecture of the area - focusing on the past, present, and possible future uses of the site.

The Creative Communities programme was created as part of Glasgow City Council’s 25 year Cultural Plan to create and champion local art and strengthen the links between culture and wider aims of improving overall health. You can learn more about the scope of the project here.
