Jolanta Dolewska

Jolanta Dolewska works with photography, projections, clay and objects. Her artistic practice is driven by concerns about power struggle of human beings in relation to their physical and political existence. Dolewska has been influenced by writings of Foucault, Merleau-Ponty, and Agamben, and their theories of regime of truth, the primacy of perception and bare life.

Jolanta Dolewska lives and works in Glasgow. Dolewska graduated with an MA from the Royal College of Art, London. She has exhibited in the UK and internationally in Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, Lithuania and South Korea. She has been awarded Constance Fairness Foundation Prize (2011), The Photographers’ Gallery Award (2012), was shortlisted for The Source-Cord Prize (2014) and Royal Scottish Academy Morton Award (2017). Dolewska’s artist book Reservoir has been shortlisted at Riga Self Published and Dummy Award Kassel (2016). Her work has been published in Uncertain States (2015), The Drouth (2016) and Source Photographic Review (2017).
