Heather McDonald is an artist born in and currently situated in Glasgow. McDonald studied and worked in industries such as prop making, fashion, and jewellery prior to graduating with a BA Hons Sculpture and Environmental Art from Glasgow School of Art in 2020. Elements of each of these skill-based practices have informed and shaped her practice to date. Her work draws on these skills to produce sculptures often based on scientific research and data. McDonald has been selected for RSA New Contemporaries, due to take place in Spring 2022 of which she has received funding from The Dewar Arts Awards to facilitate the production of a new body of work. She has also been selected for Hospitalfields yearlong Graduate Residence Programme spanning 2021-22.
