ORANGUTAN

This exhibition consists of new work by Alex Impey which follows the culmination of his one-year Gordon Foundation Graduate Fellowship at Glasgow Sculpture Studios (GSS).

Orangutan is an installation. It consists of framed graphite drawings on paper, steel and fibre sculptures, an object from the artist’s life, and a printed text. The text takes the form of a handout, and uses material describing a certain animal behaviour, to offer a way of looking at and thinking about the objects on display.
